Massage Therapy Program

I was browsing online last night at work (because it wasn't too busy) and found about massage therapy program online. I immediately remember about my colleague who quit nursing to study massage therapy. I wonder what happen to her now. Is she successful with her choice career? I hope so. It happened few years ago when I was still in the UK. She was fed up of the politics and stress at work so she decided to stop her nursing practice.

Party Party Soon

We are going to have a Filipino ICU Christmas party soon. I'm sure it will be another great party and karaoke night. But first thing first I need to lose weight even 3 kilos only. I gained 3 kilos in 2 months and hopefully in 3 weeks time I can achieve my goal. I am not comfortable weight my size anymore. I attended Christening couple of weeks ago and OMG I look like I have a kidney failure because I look so oedematous. Need to act ASAP.

The Unit Is Full

The unit has been busy this past few days. Our 15 bedded ICU is full. We have loads of agency nurses which cost too much. Which is so unfair because we have the heavy patient. Their rate range from $55-70. I need to apply in agencies so that I can get this rate. The downside is if you do agency shift they can cancel you anytime and they will assign you whereever they want.

Why I Have A Stubborn Belly Fat

I started working in ICU year 2002 and since then I never looked back. I thought at first that I can't do it and can't handle the pressure of the work. But I was wrong. It was difficult in the first three to six months but afterwards I get used to it and I'm loving every minute working as an ICU nurse. The problem is I always have one patient per shift. It means that I am with the patient allocated for 12 hours. I do night shifts and we let patient go to sleep but we can't leave the bed space. So what we do is sit and watch tv or chat with other colleagues.. This is why I have a lose stubborn belly fat. Nevertheless I am not going to swap with any other job. 

Seeing Ghost?

I was at work last night and we were talking about the rooms we slept during our break. I can't believe what my Canadian colleague said. According to her she is seeing ghost or as what she said she felt the ghost near her when she went to her break.  She said that it was her patient who died the other night. I am not so sure about this. Maybe she was just dreaming. Anyway, enough of this because I don't believe it unless I see one. Maybe not because I am scared too. LOL. I need to go to bed now because I am still working tonight or else I will develop acne and need to spend fortune with natural acne treatment. Goodnight peeps!

This Makes Me Laugh

Daughter: sobbing :'( Mum I am worried that you will not survive the surgery and you might die.
Patient- who is already 83 with a very good sense of humour: If I will die now then bury me later. What's the problem with that?

My Youngest Turned Six

The nurse (that's me :) youngest son turned sixyears old last week. In preparation I requested a four days off. I need a longer off because husband can't take off from work. It was only a small party that was held at the park after school but I was the only one who prepare all the food. I was exhausted after spending seven hours in the kitchen with no rest. Luckily all the foods that I cooked were all yummy according to my friends who attended the party. About the birthday boy. He was happy because he had a lot of gifts including the personalized soccer balls that he wanted.

Lock The Door or else...

I don't believe in ghost but I am afraid of them. LOL. I don't know why but sometimes in the unit when I sleep during my break I have nightmares where I can't move my body and I can see people surrounding me. Good thing is I don't know them and I haven't met them. Sometimes I blamed it to the pillow I used because we are using patient pillow and I'm sure several patients already died using the pillows that we are using. So every time I go on my break I make sure that the door locks just in case they will come in to share the pillow with me :)

I Need To Be More Careful

I am very careful of all my blogs so that workmates and friends from Oz can't read what I am thinking and writing about them. One morning my colleague is asking what I am about to. And why I am having this and having that? I was wandering why she knew. After few hours of asking her she said that she read my blog because I forgotten to close it when I went online during my break. But I think she doesn't remember the link because she asked me again how to look at it. I need to be very careful next time...

Why Her?

We had a 37 years old patient last night who looks like on his twenties. He was good looking with a nice built. He had an aortic valve repaired the other day. He discovered that he got a heart problem that needed a major surgery when they had their final check before deployment where he works as army. Anyway, while me and my friend was looking at the club flyer his visitor arrived that looks like on her fifties. We thought that it is his mom. But then they kissed lips to lips. Why oh why??? Why her? :)
