I Am Proud To Be a Nurse

I am tired after doing heaps of extra shifts this past few days. Just imagine I did 6 nights shifts in a week last week. Since last week I did 3 nights, 1 off, 3 nights, 1 off and another set of 3 nights. Today is my last night which is another extra shift. Then I will be off for 2 days. I am tired but it went in the hole this morning when my patient cried while kissing my hand and told me that she will not be around if we did not help her. She had loads of surgeries and was very sick for weeks. Now she is better and she is almost perfect. Today I can say how rewarding to be a Nurse!!!

Because We Are Only Nurses

Yesterday one of my friend in FB posted that she doesn't want to be a nurse because nurses are doing long hours, job is hard work and we are underpaid. Oh well, how come I am earning more than $120,000 a year if I am underpaid? Who doesn't like doing long hours when you can have four days off a week? And about patient load one to two patients per shift. Now tell me is it really hard??? I love being a nurse and even if I will turn back the time I will still do nursing even doing it on Online Schools. That is her opinion and I don't really care. Nurses are on demand where ever you go (except my home country Philippines). Now tell me do you want to be a nurse?

I Encountered A Racist

Have you encountered a racist? Because I did at work. Poor me I was shocked. I normally answer back but that time I don't know what to say. He was angry at me because he said he had a bad experience with Filipino nurses in Dubai. I was holding a binoculars that I borrowed from my colleague to used off work that time. I was tempted to throw it at his operation site but I didin't because I am a professional at work. I don't know why he concluded that I was bad. He thought that all Filipinos are the same, which is not. All people are different all over the world. He was idiot!!!

Congrats To Kayang

I am feeling overwhelm that my cousin who is a nurse in Philippines passed her IELTS examination that she took last week. Now she can start complying all the requirements that she needs to be able to work here in Australia to join us here. Yahoo!!!

Waiting Patiently

I am here at home resting at our simple sofa or my little one say contemporary sofas waiting for the unit to call me to do an extra shift. I am tired after two night shifts but I need the money. Who doesn't? Who don't need an extra cash for holiday and shopping? Because I do. Enough now because I need to go to sleep just in case they will call me for overtime. If they don't? No problem I can do more rest here at home.
