Talking About Benefits

My friend in UK who is a nurse too is on maternity leave right now and guess how many months she will be on leave? She will be off for nine months and that with maternity pay from the NHS Trust. And after that if she want to have an extension she will get another nine months allowance from the government which is her social security benefits. How good is that? While over here in Oz. The employer will only pay you 6 weeks of maternity leave. That's the downside here. The good thing is the government will give you a $5,000 baby bonus. To clarify everybody, I'm not pregnant OK :)

Missing UK This Time

I don't want to work because I don't feel well but I need to because I cannot afford to go on leave without pay. I'm missing the National Health Service more because over in UK we have an unlimited off sick. This time I wish am in UK :(

Nicky's Leaving DO

Sadly we need to say goodbye to one of our English colleague. She moved to another hospital after the management told her to re apply for her job as an educator. The hospital needs to do it to save more money and re shuffling of education stuff can save them more. Her ego was touched so she didn't re applied and after a week she resigned. She found a job straight away. We will miss her dearly because she is so nice to everybody and she is a very good educator/Staff Nurse. We will miss you Nicky! All the best!!! Now I just remembered that I need to look for clinicallix online because as what she said it works well on her. Wish me luck!

Do I Look 40?

My friend commented in Facebook that soon I will need a wrinkle cream because I am almost 40. Do I look 40? I am only 34!!! I still have six years to go on my 40's but I will make sure that I will look good before I reach my 40. Don't want to look like a 40 years old when I'm 40. LOL. So as early as now I need to look online for wrinkle cream review so that I know the best wrinkle cream to apply to look young and flawless.

FOCUS...

I had my four days off and tomorrow I will be working again. What did I do on my four days off? Apart from shopping which is wasting money. We went to the park with kids yesterday and tonight I am going to attend a farewell party of my colleague. As what I notice I am spending a lot. Need to re focus now. I need to work more to save more for rainy season. Wish me luck!

In Losing Weight

Soon everybody in our unit will be fit and healthy because almost all of us are trying to lose weight. So far, the result is good. Some are losing weight by exercising, dieting, starving and taking diet pills. Everybody are trying their best to be sexy again :-) One of my colleague already lose more than 30 kgs, which she is hoping to lose another 20 kgs. Good on her. While me on the other hand, is having difficulty on losing another 4 kgs. Why oh why? Anyway, need to read the prevera reviews that my colleague told me. Maybe it will help. What do you think?

In Need of Shipping Boxes

Way back in UK we send shipping boxes of course with goods twice a year for relatives back home. Now that we are in Australia I haven't think about it yet. But really I need to start buying stuff now to send to my husband's and my relatives back home. I need to send it before November to make sure it arrives before Christmas. It is already tradition to us overseas Filipino workers nurses or not to share our blessing to our family in the Philippines.

It's Party Time

Yes indeed, I am. This Saturday will be my first night out with friends/colleagues at work. Sad to say somebody is leaving who is very dear to me. To show my appreciation to her I will come to her farewell party. It will be fun!!! Dinner, drinks and casino time :) I hope I will win. Wish me luck.

Getting Rid Of Blackheads

The last time I had my facial treatment was a year ago when we went on holiday in the Philippines. Since then I did not had it done. As what I heard it is very expensive here and they don't do it properly. Now my problem is getting rid of blackheads especially on my nose. I already used a scrub solution and toner with no good effect. My colleague heard me complaining about this and she recommended a treatment which works wonder. I hope it works wonder on me.

HELP

Can somebody help me please? I need an appetite suppressants as soon as possible. What we do at work and after work is eat and eat. It seems that I don't get full. My waistline is getting bigger and my uniform is getting tighter which means I am getting fat again!!! Whaaaaaa. I'm the eight Filipino who works in the unit that I work now and most of us do night shifts. So imagine us working all together. Because we always end up chatting and eating but that's after all our work are done. So please if you know any appetite suppressants that works, please tell me.

WTH!

One of my Filipino colleague in UK declined my friend request in Facebook. I know she reads this blog. But what the heck! I don't really care if we are not friends online because in real life we are not! Duh!!!

Are You Scared?

I do mostly night shift since I started my nursing abroad to manage the child care better. For almost nine years I am assigned in ICU where patient are unstable and mortality rate is so high. So having a patient who is dying is very common to us ICU nurses. When a patient die we wash them and cover them with a sheet. Worst scenario is if they are bleeding. If they are we put them inside a bag. So imagine doing this at night time. Even if I witnessed this situation so many times I don't get used to it. That's why when my colleague had his patient died recently it's not a surprise to me that he did not sleep on his one hour break. Instead he was browsing online looking for auto insurance quote for his brand new Prado. Who wouldn't be scared?

One Plus One

This is based on my experience. Every time one patient died another one will get very sick and the worst is sometimes another one will die. I don't know what's the theory behind this but it feels scary. I am thinking that maybe the dead person want somebody to accompany him/her anywhere he goes. Creepy!!! What if he/she want the nurse? lol. But I can assure you that it will not be me because I take the best supplements ;-) Anyway, few days ago I witnessed another situation again where two patient died on the same day. Again I cannot explain what's behind all of this.

He's Gone

A day after writing my last post. The patient that I mentioned died. So sad :( Family did not expect all of this to happen because he was absolutely fine (apart from his heart problem) before surgery. I'm sure he did not have the operation he is still alive but then he will live full of fear because of his health condition. If you will be put in his situation what are you going to do? No surgery to avoid the risk of complication? Or to have surgery and hoping that you will wake up and everything is done? But sadly it did not happen to him.
