Sad :(

One of our patient went to surgery with GCS of 15/15 means he is alert, orientated and with function of all his limbs. As what I heard from his family he doesn't want to have this surgery done. But then family want to extend his life. So he had an open heart but ended up with brain damage. Now he is alive because of the drugs and the breathing machine. If everything will be turn off he will die or shall I say he is dead now but organs are functioning because of all the medical stuff that is connected to him. Family are upset and until now they are hoping for a miracle. Anyway, need to go now. I am on night shift tonight and I need to get the business card printing first so that I can give it to my friend who needs it.

No Complaining

After working for four night shift I had a day off yesterday and then I will do another night shift tonight. Oh well. I don't need to complain because I did an extra shift. I'm just lucky that our unit is so busy this past few days. With a lot of patient it means more extra shift for us nurses and means more moolah!!! I need it badly for our coming holiday to Sydney next month. What I need is a horse tack so that I will work as fast as a horse. LOL.

My New Duty Shoes

Expensive but comfortable...

I'm Off

Had a nice two days off this time. Yesterday from night shift spent the day at home relaxing and sleeping. Had a time putting my feet up with our outdoor furniture while having a cup of tea this autumn season. Which is about 15 degrees celsius. Just right for me - nice and cool. Today went to the city with friend. Had lunch at yum cha and went to a sample sale of Kookai. it was my first time for a sample sale and it was fun and exciting. As usual I bought stuff for me ;)

Wash Your Hand

As you all know I am a nurse in profession. Obviously!!! Today I am going to disscuss hand hygiene. Do you know that I wash my hand everytime I touch my patient or her/his sorrounding with or without using gloves? So imagine how many times I do it. In one shift I think I wash my hand more than a 100 times. Now it gives me an idea to count it next time. The more busy the patient is the more I wash my hand. Of course! That is why you can find sink and faucets everywhere in the hospital. Handwashing is the first line of defence against germs so why not do it? It doesn't take long and by this you can assure a healthy life! This topic apply to anybody hospital or home setting.

Now what?

Now what? After off for four days. Worked on a day shift. Then a night shift then off then another four night straight. Now what? Yes I am angry because I am tired. I'm only halfway of my night. Imagine I need to do two more? And tomorrow need to attend my youngest activity at school for two hours. Where will I get my energy? Especially that I am not feeling so well because of my sore throat. Now I really want to cry....
