I am off for four days and there is nothing to do except researching about prevera reviews. So how come I have four days off? I had annual leave on Monday, and my exta shift tonight is cancelled so my next shift will be on Friday for 8 hours. This is the joy of doing long hours. I only need to do 6 12.5 hours shift and one 8.5 hours shift forthnightly. So I have seven days off too every two weeks. By doing this I think I can't do the eight hours normal shifts anymore where you only have 2 days off every week. Jealous? :-)
ICU Workload
I work in ICU where the work load is not that bad compared working on the ward. The most patients we can have is two and when our patient is ventilated we only have one. But mind you we stay with the patient all the time. Imagine our 12.5 hours shift. 11-11.5 hours of it is with the patient. Sometimes there is nothing to do except watching the patient who doesn't move because they are sedated. Us nurses will just be sitting watching the lying patient. No wonder I am gaining weight. Anybody knows what's the best diet pills that actually work? If you do please tell me.
ALS Done!
I was so anxious and stressed for the ALS training that I mentioned on my last post and I did not able to continue my ongoing diet and exercise. Because of this I gained 1 kg. back. Now I need to do double time and maybe try my friend's style on how to how to lose weight fast. It works for her. I hope it will do justice on me. Back to the training, I thought it is so hard because according to my colleagues it is a difficult one. Well not for me. I am just please that I am over with it. Next year again.
Mesothelioma Survival Rate
Right now I feel nervous because for the next two days I am going to have my 2 days training for Advance Life Support. Training and exam will be hard as what I've heard. I hope that everything will go well. I read the handout already but not well understood. 135 pages is a bit too much to study for two days. Also need to know about mesothelioma survival rate just in case they will ask me about it.
Always Tired
There's a birthday celebration this afternoon but I don't feel like going. I feel tired even I did not do a lot of work last week. Tonight I am doing one night shift and then off for another two days. Husband just rang and said I need to go with them. He said I need to sleep now so that I can have a rest and then go to the party after kid's school. What? It's only 11:30 in the morning! Ok need to go now. Not to sleep but to clean the house ;(
No Extras
So what I am doing right now? Here sitting at the front of my laptop searching for acne solutions for my friend. Also I am watching a Filipino soap opera through you tube :) I was off yesterday and I am doing a night shift tonight. Only one and I'm off for another two days. Wanted to do some extra shift for extra money but there's not a lot of surgeries since last week because of the holiday. It means no patients no extra work and no extra money... sigh. :(
The Nurse's Wedding
Picture above taken on June 27, 1998. Almost 12 years ago. That was a long time. Now I really feel old :) Anyway I haven't been to a wedding for some time now. I miss being in Philippines where there's a lot of weddings happening. I miss doing wedding favors to a couple. My friend in UK is inviting me to go home on his brother wedding on June in Philippines. If only I have some money. I would like to attend and have a holiday back home. If only I have some extra money.
